  • Mitas developing special Powerpull tire

    Prague, 13 May 2014 – Mitas signed a sponsorship agreement with the European Tractor Pulling Committee (ETPC) and has entered the dynamic world of tractor-pulling. The agreement goes hand-in-hand with the development of the special Mitas Powerpull tire. The construction of the first prototype of the new tractor-pulling tire is based on a manufacturing process similar to that for Mitas’ high-horsepower tractor tires. This will guarantee endurance and durability. Mitas Powerpull will be available in 2014.

  • Mitas at the National Farm Machinery Show

    Charles City (IA) - In February 2014 for the first time in its history, Mitas joined the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, USA. Several hundred exhibitors and the exciting Championship Tractor Pull are the best attractions at one of the largest fairs in North America.

  • U.S. senator visits Charles City

    Charles City (IA) - In January, the Mitas plant in Charles City was honored by a visit by Chuck Grassley, the senior U.S. senator from the state of Iowa.

  • Mitas signs up CLAAS

    Prague, 11 December 2013 – At Agritechnica, Mitas signed a long-term agreement with CLAAS, one of the major manufacturers of agricultural machinery. Mitas will supply Continental and Mitas branded farm tires to CLAAS combines and tractors.

  • New sizes of Mitas SFT for powerful machines

    Prague/Hannover, 11 November 2013 – The range extension of Super Flexion Tires (SFT) is another novelty from Mitas presented at the Agritechnica fair. Mitas SFT are made for high-horsepower tractors with over 180 hp and sold in the North American market. New sizes of Mitas SFT are 900/60R42; 710/60R34; 650/60R34; 710/65R46; 750/65R26 and 580/85R42.

  • World ploughing champ tyre goes to Mitas

    Prague, 1 August 2013 – Barbara Klaus, an Austrian driving a New Holland tractor mounted with Mitas tires, took first place in the conventional ploughing world championship held in Olds, Alberta (Canada). Her teammate Margareta Heigl won the silver in reversible ploughing driving a Steyr tractor. John Whelan of Ireland won the reversible ploughing category.

  • Mitas signs up AGCO for four years

    Prague, 30 May 2013 – The manufacturer of agricultural machinery AGCO has signed a four-year agreement with Mitas to supply Continental- and Mitas-branded farm tires to Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Valtra, Challenger and Laverda branded tractors and combines for their plants in Germany, Finland, France and Italy starting in 2013.

  • Mitas in Iowa: One year on

    Charles City (IA), April 9, 2013 – In April, Mitas celebrates 12 months of farm tire manufacturing at its Charles City facility, which currently employs 188 locals in Iowa. Today, Mitas held its board of directors meeting at the facility and launched three new tire sizes in the SFT and AC85 ranges available in North America starting in April.

  • Mitas makes tires non-stop in Charles City

    Charles City (IA), January 7, 2013 – On 2 January, Mitas’ factory in Charles City started making radial farm tires 24/7. This is in line with an increase of the factory’s output as new machinery is currently being installed. Today, the factory runs two 12-hour shifts a day, seven days a week; each shift averages 40 hours of work a week. Since summer, six additional curing presses and eight tire-building machines have been installed. The factory now employs 179 local people.

  • Mitas dispatched its 100th truckload of tires from the Charles City plant

    Charles City, Iowa, October 19, 2012 – Today, tire maker Mitas loaded and expedited the 100th truck of farm tires made in Charles City. “This delivery is intended for American farmers,” said Pavel Charvat, the president of Mitas’ North American subsidiary. Some of Mitas’ tires are also exported abroad. Mitas’ Moscow sales office has confirmed that the first two containers of tires made in Iowa were delivered to customers in Russia.
