  • Mitas introduces its premium American product lines

    Boone (IA), August 28, 2012 – At the Farm Progress Show, Mitas introduced its premium product line sold in North America to accommodate demands from the farming community with locally made products manufactured at its Iowan radial farm tire factory. From September 1, all Mitas-made premium tires delivered to U.S. farmers will bear the Mitas brand name. These tires are based on Continental agricultural tires, which Mitas has made under license since 2004.

    The Mitas brand offers a comprehensive range of radial and cross-ply tires for tractors, combines and agricultural implement and a wide range of industrial (IND), multi-purpose tires (MPT) and earth-mover tires (OTR). The Mitas brand also includes tires for off-road motorcycle and aircraft tire segments. Mitas-branded tires are intended for worldwide distribution as part of original equipment by equipment manufacturers and on the aftermarket.

  • Mitas appoints chief financial officer

    Prague 2 July 2012 – Off-road tyre producer Mitas appointed Vladimir Rada as its new chief financial officer. Rada is a Czech national who has worked at AcelorMittal Distribution Solutions since 2007 in various finance- and controlling-related positions.

  • Tractor town makes tractor tires

    Charles City (IA), April 26, 2012 – Today, Mitas opened its newest radial farm tire factory in Charles City, which coined the word “tractor.” Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, Charles City Mayor James Erb and Mitas representatives Tomas Nemec and Oldrich Slemr cut the ribbon to start serial production of farm tires. Mitas announced it would accelerate its $52 million investment to achieve the full production capacity of 13,500 metric tons of tires a year by 2013, which is three years earlier than originally anticipated.

  • New earth-moving tires from Mitas

    Paris-Nord Villepinte/Prague, 17 April 2012 – Industrial tyre producer Mitas presented a set of new earth-mover tires that extends the family of its ERL/ERD tyre sizes by 30 percent.

  • Mitas at ports and terminals

    Paris-Nord Villepinte/Prague, 16 April 2012 – Industrial tyre producer Mitas introduced new tires intended for material handling machinery, at Intermat in Paris. The new FLR-01 and SC-01 tires can be fitted on straddle carriers, terminal tractors, container handlers and forklifts used in port terminals and intermodal yards to handle bulk goods and large containers.

  • Mitas appoints Spijker as Benelux director

    Uden/Prague, 8 March 2012 – On 1 March, tyre manufacturer, Mitas, appointed Jean-Paul Spijker market director for the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Operating out of Uden, Spijker has the responsibility of increasing Mitas’ market share and improving customer service in the region.

  • Heating up for serial production

    Farm and industrial tire manufacturer Mitas has cured the first test tire at its new Charles City facility, which is currently in the testing phase

  • Fendt awards four As to Mitas

    AGCO has awarded its highest supplier rating to Mitas for deliveries of farm tires from January to December 2011. The Mitas-produced brand Continental is a standard fitment in four out of six AGCO’s model series, e.g. Fendt 924-930 Vario. AGCO evaluates its suppliers’ quality, logistics, customer service and protection of the environment, in all of which Mitas received the highest grade. Mitas has received the overall A award annually since acquiring production of Continental farm tires in 2004.
