Reasons to Believe

Technology for technology

Agricultural technology is evolving rapidly, and today’s high-horsepower tractors and combines demand tires that can keep up with the pace. That is why Mitas is committed to providing advanced radial tires to ensure your farming operation is expertly outfitted from the ground up.

If farm tires are not up to speed with the new machinery, farmers may experience:

  • Subpar machine performance
  • Decreased productivity
  • Increased operating costs
  • Suboptimal crop yields
  • Lost profits

Location, location, location

Mitas’ superior agricultural tires are manufactured in Charles City, Iowa, where the term “tractor” was coined by combining the words traction and power. There is not a better description of what Mitas tires can do for farmers, or a better place for Mitas to call home.

Service and quality farmers can trust

Mitas’ Charles City facility is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals working toward a common goal: bringing innovative ideas and unmatched quality to the farmers of America. They take pride in their work. Every new tire that rolls off the production line represents Mitas’ commitment – and promise – to bringing farmers the best tires to suit their needs and strengthen their bottom line.

Expertise means everything

Given the high stakes and rewards of farming operations, would a farmer rather buy tires from a manufacturer that dabbles in agriculture or one that focuses all its resources solely on agricultural and off-road tires? At Mitas, agriculture alone accounts for 70 percent of business. When farmers purchase Mitas premium-grade agricultural radial tires, they can be confident in tires engineered and manufactured to exacting standards for superior quality, durability and performance.

Tradition and expertise

Roads cover only 0.3 percent of Earth’s landmass. Forty percent is agricultural land, and the rest is new challenges and adventure. Off the road, people need Mitas tires to provide a reliable performance with long service life, preserving power, fuel-efficient, custom-made and environmentally friendly. Mitas strives to make durable tires with excellent traction due to a large footprint exerting low ground pressure.

What makes Mitas tires reliable?

At Mitas’ oldest factories, tires have been produced since the 1930s. Now Mitas operates five factories: one in Charles City, IA, and four in Europe. Originally, Mitas factories produced tires and tubes for cars, motorcycles and bikes. The name Mitas has been used since 1947.

Agricultural tires became Mitas’ core business in 2004, when Mitas acquired the agricultural tire division of Continental A.G.

Mitas today is one of the leading European producers of tires for use in agriculture, construction and industry. One in four tractors and harvesters produced in Europe leaves the production line fitted with Mitas-made tires.

Mitas respects international standards. Mitas is a member of the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association. Mitas invests in research and development to make long-lasting, fuel-efficient and reliable tires. The process of developing a new tire, creating rubber compounds and testing may take up to four years from conception to production.

Tires by Mitas undergo testing in operating conditions and in our accredited testing facility, the IGTT
